Review Answers to Consultant Questions

The City of Walnut Creek is soliciting Proposals from qualified firms (Consultants) to provide professional services associated with the following tasks:

A. Creating content for the existing City Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) landing page;

B. Developing a web based cost estimator for ADU construction and permitting fees;

C. Drafting and finalizing an ADU handout and visual guide to assist potential applicants;

D. Producing a Permit Ready ADU Design Model Workbook with various “dwelling

models” and their architectural elevations and floor plan options;

E. Creating construction-level permit ready documents for each “dwelling model” in the

workbook, and

F. Assist staff with implementing a community engagement strategy, to include workshops

and meetings with the public at large, our Commissions and Council.

The City is seeking a Consultant that can effectively manage and complete the planning tasks

listed. The Consultant will need to demonstrate expertise in ADU regulations, visual document

production, architectural/construction level permit ready plan drafting, website creation, and

community outreach and engagement. The City is inviting interested consultants to submit a

proposal to perform the services described in this RFP, the contract award is expected not to

exceed $160,000, inclusive of a 15% contingency.
