Holiday Closure & Permit Processing Notice
The City of Walnut Creek will be closed December 24, 2025 through January 2, 2026 for City holidays and closure days. During this time, the permit portal will remain open 24/7, but staff review and processing times will be delayed. Please expect 5–7 business days of additional processing time on building permits after the New Year.
Building Code Update
Beginning January 1, 2026, all building permit applications must comply with the 2025 Building Code. Applications submitted by 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2025 will still be accepted under the 2022 Building Code. To ensure your building permit is processed before the closure, please submit no later than December 15, 2025.
