Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Local Hazard Mitigation Plan serves as a coordinating document to help more than three dozen local agencies and special purpose districts reduce their risks from a wide range of potential events, including earthquakes, floods, wildfires, or extreme heat.

2024 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

In an effort to make the County more disaster-ready and resilient, the Contra Costa County Office of Emergency Services (OES) is seeking public feedback on the 2024 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP). This Plan serves as a guide to the County on how to become more resilient to the impacts of natural, human-caused, and technological hazards. Interested residents have until May 31 to view and provide comments on the Plan before it is submitted to FEMA for review.
