City Council Priorities

The City Council is focused on five major areas. Learn more about the 2025 and 2026 priorities.

Legislative Advocacy

The City Council adopts a legislative agenda each year to serve as a framework for advocacy efforts. The City employs a lobbyist, Townsend Public Affairs (TPA) to act as the voice for the City of Walnut Creek on all legislation. TPA uses the legislative platform as their guide for advocacy.

City Council Handbook

The City Council Handbook assists Council members in carrying out their roles. The handbook provides guidance on council responsibilities, finical matters, staff interactions, and ethics.

Council meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 1666 North Main Street. View meeting agendas and minutes.
