As of October 13, 2025, sandbag stations are open for the winter.

Sandbag station locations

In preparation for storm events, the City stocks five sandbag stations for residents and local businesses. Sand and bags will be available at the following locations during winter months:

• Lancaster Road near Orchard Lane
• Heather Farm Park Ballfield 5&6 parking lot (adjacent to the Dog Park)
• Larkey Park parking lot
• Howe Homestead Park parking lot
• Rudgear Park parking lot

Bags and sand are provided for residents at the sandbag stations. However, shovels are not provided. Please bring your own shovels.

Sandbag and sand disposal

Following a storm, sandbags may be kept in a covered area and used for future storm events.  When the woven plastic starts to break down bags should be discarded.  Sand may be used in gardens or other outdoor applications.
